Friday from Kampala

The week has been incredible and God has done an amazing work.  We apologize for the late blog entry, but the Internet connection in Kagadi was spotty and the days were very full with breakfast at 7 and supper at 8.

The days have been packed full with the clinic from 8:30 to 6:00p where we saw a total of 900+ patients and over 200 +teeth pulled!   So many teeth pulled that John developed blisters that required makeshift bandages made of duct tape to press on!  You can fix anything with duct tape! Soren, a budding dentist, pulled four teeth during a rare break for John!   He even went through the crowd with a flashlight screening the worst teeth to be pulled!  If up to Soren there would be few teeth left in Kagadi!

James Colvard, family practice resident, consistently saw the most patients each day, setting the bar high for the other doctors.   His contagious laugh and joy in clinic spurred us to serve with the joy of the Lord!  His genuine love for the people endeared him to the people of  Kagadi.

Matt Phillips has been his typical cheerleader self rallying us all in the clinic and at the team gatherings.  His smiling enthusiasm was especially needed to get us all going on that third morning at breakfast.  With women lining the hall throughout the day, his tireless drive to treat every patient in Uganda provided the spark of energy we all needed to make it through the long days.

The clinic was a great tool to do what we really came to do which is to love the people, present the gospel and support New Life Pres. Church.    What a joy to be used by God in this unique way.    Thank you to all of you who made this trip happen!  God is Alive and Active in Uganda!

Wish we could blog more but we three have a flight to catch!   The rest of the team will remain to worship and serve at New Life Pres. Church in Kagadi.    Continue to pray for their work and safe return!

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.(Matthew 18:12-14 ESV) For the children of Uganda.

Blog when you can....it is good to hear from you. Hug Elijah and MG for me.....grandma misses them....and of all of you of course. God bless you....praying for your daily. Ginger
